Johanns Promoted to CEO

Bob Johanns, President of GNB Bank, has been promoted to President/CEO of GNB Bancorporation which is the holding company for GNB Bank and its subsidiaries.   

Johanns began his career with GNB in June 2002 as the Chief of Lending. In 2009, he became the Interim President of Ackley State Bank and in February 2010, became President of Grundy National Bank (now GNB Bank). Johanns earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Ag Business and Economics and a master’s degree in Agriculture from Iowa State University. He is also a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Colorado.

Johanns’ vision for the future of GNB is to continue building on improving technology infrastructure, while at the same time providing the personalized service customers have come to expect from GNB.

Johanns, who resides in Grundy Center with his wife, Beth, is active on several boards including Grundy Center Civil Service Commission, Grundy Center Municipal Utilities, Knights of Columbus, and the Maroon and White Committee.   

GNB Bank, established in 1934, is a full-service, community bank with locations in Ackley, Conrad, Geneva, Grundy Center, Iowa Falls, Manchester, Marshalltown and Story City. Currently its assets total $622 million, and services include banking, loans, insurance, trust, investments and real estate.
